From the perspective of the physical condition of professionals, data shows that 37.6% of professionals suffer from lumbar or cervical spine diseases, making it the most common ailment among the workforce. According to our survey, approximately 69% of students and white-collar workers spend more than five hours working, studying, or entertaining at their desks, and 73% experience back pain during this process. Without an ergonomic chair, significant damage can be done to the spine and lumbar vertebrae. We primarily explore how to alleviate the spinal pressure caused by prolonged sitting forstudents and professionals through innovative modificationsto ergonomic chairs.
We have chosen to adjust the support structure from the back to the front, aligning more with ergonomics. This modification not only relieves lumbar pressure but also provides various solutions to cater to different needs, lowering barriers for more people to enjoy the benefits of ergonomics.
According to the established plan, assuming the project progresses smoothly, we hope to design a relatively perfect new ergonomic support structure and continuously improve it in subsequent stages. We aim to apply for patents, promote such structures, and enable a broader audience, including our target demographic and others, to enjoy the benefits of ergonomics while reducing costs for easy dissemination. Our short-term success is defined by designing a relatively perfect structure to ensure support, with the foreseeable possibility of low-cost production and ease of promotion in the future.
